Do you remember St. Augustine's Avenue running from the Supe Store, in front of Gailor, to Snowden? How about the City Cafe, Juhan Gymnasium, the railroad tracks or the flags of the founding dioceses? They are all here on this hand drawn poster from 1991. At first glance, this could be Sewanee today, but on closer inspection you'll find many buildings missing - McClurg, Humphreys, Spencer, Nabit... The detail is superb and the map includes St. Andrews, St. Mary's, the airport, lakes, waterfalls, both sets of gates, angels, horses, bike riders, backpackers, & even a VW van. Enjoy a drawing of Sewanee's past and marvel at how precious little it changes!
